The Sacredness of Purple

Heather Maria

Purple is seen as having sacred meaning, the flowers are considered delicate and precious.
The color purple has a variety of effects on the mind and body, including uplifting spirits, calming the mind and nerves, enhancing the sacred, creating feelings of spirituality, increasing nurturing tendencies and sensitivity, and encouraging imagination and creativity.

Purple is the color of high Divinity.  Know that there are Divine beings of light throughout the Universe, Galaxy and Cosmos.  There are Divine Beings of Heaven including all the Angels, Archangels and more.  There is also most importantly your Soul.  Our soul knows what’s closest to Home.  High Divinity.  The true Essence of our Soul Being.  And Purple represents that.

People closest to spirituality usually identify with Purple in some way.

Life Purpose

Ever since I shed my skin and decided to get back to creativity, my life started to change. I started to evolve. My passion has always been to use my “skills” to inspire and help others. I usually save this page for my photography, but I thought I’d share a little about myself and my journey.
Here is a blog I posted on my website.
I had been thinking a lot about this lately. I had an idea of what I wanted to write, but as I wrote, the words just spilled out onto the page. I feel it’s important to share our story and our thoughts. I hope you enjoy it and I hope it helps you in some way. Please feel free to share your own thoughts. I’d love to hear what you think.

Heather Maria

I have been thinking a great deal about my Life Purpose.  I feel like we all have a Divine Plan.  Passions that were given to us for a reason.  When I think about how this world started, I feel it was to be a world full of give and take.  That we were part of something bigger than us.  Part of a community.  We were and are each individuals here to experience life and help others do the same.  It is and was a world only fueled by Love.  Love is so very important.  Love and respect of others and of our selves.  Humanitarianism and compassion were always a part of this world.  It was a place of peace and joy.  Of sharing and of caring.  We were all humble beings full of grace and grateful for life.  Somewhere along the way darkness set it.  A string of negativity began…

Trinity Lutheran Church, Milwaukee Architecture and History

I have always been interested in the architecture of buildings.  I love the craftsmanship.  Most of the time it’s the older style that draws me in.  I have a lot of history in my soul.

The Victorian Gothic style always seems to grab my attention.  This is one reason I love to take photographs of churches built in this style.

One Church that grabbed my attention from the first time I saw it was Trinity Lutheran.  It wasn’t just the architecture with that church, it was the light around it.  It felt like it had good energy.  And it certainly was beautiful.

Founded by immigrants from Pomerania, Germany in 1847, it is the second oldest Missouri Synod Congregation in Wisconsin
The building was designed by Fredrick Velguth in Victorian Gothic style.
It is located on 9th St. between Highland and State in historic Milwaukee, WI

Unfortunately the beautiful landmark has recently been devastated by fire.

I am so thankful I have some photos of it to show to the world.

I recently participated in an art show in Milwaukee.  I had a framed photo of it as well as a couple other unframed photos with it in the picture.  It really was a focal point and conversation piece of the day.  People bought photos of it to have as a remembrance.  I could see how much that church meant to so many.

This is one of my favorite city photos I have taken.  The clouds that showed up that day framed it perfectly.  My favorite it the black and white but I love the color as well.

A couple others taken from the Historic Pabst Brewery site (also full of good energy)

All the photos are available for purchase in my ETSY store via the links.  Other Milwaukee photos available on there as well in the Cityscape section.

How do you feel about history and architecture?  Does the old or new resonate with you more?  Any favorite places in your town that you are drawn to?

Trees are the Heart and Soul of Nature

Today is National Love A Tree Day.  I love trees, all kinds.
My favorite has always been the Willow Tree. There is just something about it. I am fascinated by them.

I found this wonderful quote online regarding the “Weeping Willow”

I am big into symbolism.  I believe everything has meaning.

willow tree 2

Being a photographer, I love capturing nature at different angles.  On this particular day I captured different willow trees and they inspired me to write.

The willow tree weeps for her heart is broken from waiting on lost dreams that never come to fruition
Tired of the struggle that never ends she is crushed
Left with pealing and scalded skin tearing apart at her core
Yet she hangs onto nothing and everything at the same time
